Newtimber is a small parish having 68 registered electors. As such, it does not have a Council, but a Meeting. The main difference between a Parish Council and a Parish Meeting is that all registered electors can take part in the running of the Parish's affairs, and so there are no elections for Councillors. About fourteen members attend our parish meetings on a regular basis. Meetings are held when there is something to discuss - for example a planning application, setting the annual precept, electing the chairman.
The district council is Mid Sussex District Council and the County Council is West Sussex County Council. The Parish is in the Parliamentary Constituancy of Arundel and South Downs.
The annual Parish Meeting is on Wednesday 23rd April at 7pm at Newtimber Place. All registered electors are welcome to attend.
There is a planning application for a telecommunications mast for T-Mobile at West Rd, Pyecombe. All comments must be received by 25th April.

The register of electors has been published and is available for inspection under supervision during office hours at Mid Sussex District Council, Oaklands, Haywards Heath. If you have recently moved, see the Mid Sussex District Council website for details on how to get your name on the register.
The Parish Meeting has decided to adopt the model scheme for Parish Meetings to comply with the Freedom of Information Act. If you want to see/take copies of the minutes of any Parish Meeting; response to planning applications or any other non-commercially sensitive information, by arrangement with the Clerk. You can download the full text of the scheme here. To email the clerk, please complete the feedback form.
